Come and celebrate the International Year of Biodiversity at the Green Living Kids Zone! Host to a variety of activities and presentations the Kids Zone brings you live animal presentations, interaction with some wriggling insects, kids’ yoga and meditation, tree planting, ecologically-based musical performances and more! Kids will learn about the many plant, animal and insect species of our planet in a fun and interactive way.

Groups featured include Earth Rangers’ Animal Ambassadors, Wye Marsh, The Royal Conservatory – Learning Through the Arts, Cathy’s Crawly Composters, The LUNA Project, TerraCycle and the Centre For Art & Soul.

Take part in our Kids’ Creative Classroom Challenge!

Kids - gather recycled materials from home and along with your classmates, create a piece of art that celebrates biodiversity – the many species and ecosystems that are part of our earth. Before beginning this project, talk with your classmates about what biodiversity means to you. This piece can be a sculpture or large-scale poster which incorporates your recycled items.

Once complete, submit one to two photos of your creation along with your definition of biodiversity to Green Living for your chance to win tickets for your classroom to the Royal Ontario Museum to see “Bring Back the Wild” – the Earth Rangers’ live animal show – as well as t-shirts for the entire class.
